A COMMUNITY PLATFORM FOR THE AGGREGATION OF IOTA KNOWLEDGE
THIS PROJECT IS FUNDED, ORGANIZED, AND RUN BY US - THE COMMUNITY.
Everything on this website is produced, maintained, and supported by members of the IOTA community.
Hello IOTA has been a long time in the making. It is a successor to IOTA Support, which was the original community website for the IOTA project, containing tutorials for wallet and node setup, links to pertinent information, and selected information for posterity (the big deal, IF members, etc.).
As the DLT space grew over the months/years, so too did the needs of the community. Individual websites started popping up left and right, siphoning information into many different corners and making it all but impossible for newcomers to find their way through the maze in front of them. Tracking down even the simplest information was a tall task. There must have been 100 people per day asking how to generate a seed. All of this in spite of the fact that IOTA social media presence was growing exponentially: The Slack channel grew so bloated that a move to Discord was necessitated. The IOTA subreddit grew at breakneck pace. And the twitter machine was working overdrive with endless banter.
From the outside, it surely looks great. But it’s clear from living inside it for so long that we really need a sustainable, useful central hub for knowledge building and information posterity within the community. Having personally answered the same reclaim question thousands of times way back on Slack, and more recently on Discord, and seen the same questions asked over and over on Reddit, there comes a time when the ‘live-chat’ and ‘upvote’ platforms are inadequate for knowledge building.
To address the need for such a platform, Hello IOTA is born. No longer will newcomers to the IOTA ecosystem have to bounce between seven different websites to find answers to their questions. No longer will the same questions have to be asked over and over on Discord and Reddit. HI is not affiliated with the IOTA Foundation and has no ties to the official IOTA project. This allows HI forum moderators and HI article authors the unique ability to call things as they see them. We’re all interested in what’s best for IOTA’s success, but we’re not beholden to anyone except you, the community.
So join us on this journey. New articles will be posted weekly, and the forum will remain lively with frequently updated information and announcements. This project will be what we make it so, feel free to dive in.
All is for IOTA.
